Having packed the night before, getting ready in the morning
was fairly easy. We left some food we didn't need, but took
everything else we could. I had booked our transportation on the
internet and he arrived promptly at 8:00 AM. But, he was really
annoying. He fancied himself a tour guide and asked us all sorts
of questions about Iain, which I really did feel like answering.
He asked how much he cost, where he took us, blah, blah, blah.
We were all thankful he wasn't our guide during Scotland. Yuck.
One the way home, I knew it was going to be confusing for the
person at the ticket counter. We were all on the same ticket
back to Heathrow, but Allison was on a separate ticket after
that. Mom and I were on the ticket back to DFW, Lisa was on a
separate ticket to DFW, then another to OKC, and Mom and I on
yet another back to OKC from DFW. Well, the ticket counter
person was very good, but it did take her about fifteen minutes
to figure it out. Once we left the counter, the line was very,
very long behind us. Doh!
The flight from Edinburgh to Heathrow was uneventful, as well
as the flight from Heathrow to DFW. We flew back in economy,
which was horrible. It just a little hard to sleep sitting up.
We got Allison on her flight to Amarillo without any problem. On
our flight from DFW to OKC, there was another guy with my name
and they mixed up the board passes, but not too much of a
problem. The flight was delayed about one hour, but all our
luggage was at OKC and we got a van home. It was almost 24 hours
since we woke up.
All-in-all, it was a great trip. I was so glad that I was
able to travel with my loved ones. It was a good day.
