Today, we hired a private guide named David Stubbs from London Country Tours. I think anyone would be very happy with him, as were we. David plan today was to take us to Eton College, Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral.

Our first stop was Eton, where many prime ministers and princes have gone to school. Here's a little about the school from Wikipedia:

Eton College, also known as Eton, is a British independent school for boys, founded in 1440 by King Henry VI. It was founded as the King's College of Our Lady of Eton beside Windsor. It is located in Eton, near Windsor in England, north of Windsor Castle, and is one of the original nine English public schools as defined by the Public Schools Act 1868. It has a very long list of distinguished former pupils, including eighteen former British Prime Ministers. Traditionally, Eton has been referred to as "the chief nurse of England's statesmen", and has been described as the most famous public school in the world. The Good Schools Guide called the school "the number one boys' public school," adding, "The teaching and facilities are second to none."

Next, onto Windsor Castle. Our driver got us right to the entrance, but once we walked in, the cash registered crashed. We had to wait about 15-20 minutes, all the while, hundreds of groups were going past. It was going to be a busy day for the castle. David had told us when and where we should be to see the changing of the guard. We went to St. George's Chapel first, then went outside to see the guard. Next, we walked up to the State Apartments, which were amazing. It was well worth the trip. I wish I had some pictures inside, but the outside pictures are pretty good.

Then, a bit of a drive and we arrive at Stonehenge. It was a bit chilly once we arrived. We walked around, but you can't get very close, unless you purchase special tickets in the morning or evening. It was all pretty amazing.

Then onto Old Sarum and Salisbury Cathedral. Great day.
