Louise and Allison arrived at our house the night before we left. None of us slept much and we had to get up at 3 AM. Flying to Chicago was uneventful. But the flight from Chicago to Heathrow was wonderful. Mostly because we upgraded to FIRST CLASS. It was the lay-flat seats. We each had our own little suite with private video screens. I think I slept more than I was awake. Every time I started watching 'Quatum of Solace' I feel back asleep. It was nice, the food was good, and plenty of beverages for all.
Woohoo!
Arriving at Heathrow, they had a wheelchair for Mom, which was sweet. That meant we got to ride the motorized vehicle through the terminal, go through the quickest immigration line in the world and buzz right through customs. Mom is going with us everywhere from now on.
Our driver was waiting for us and we drove into London. Our flat is a stone's throw away from St. James Palace and very near Buckingham Palace. There are more stairs than I had expected. We settled in and all went to sleep. I was the first to get up at 9 AM and start the new day... but that is for tomorrow.
