Oklahoma City, Oklahoma -
November, 2003 Friday, November 28th, 2003 After spending Thanksgiving with Lisa's family, I thought it would be fun to be a tourist in my own home town, Oklahoma City. There is plenty to see and to! Lisa and I started the day at the OKC Zoo. It is one of the top 10 zoos in the national, and since I am a ZooFriend, admission was free. The day after Thanksgiving is a great day to go. There weren't many people and we got to see a free show at Aquaticus. I always enjoy the aquarium and all the birds were great to see. For lunch, we ate at Earl's Rib Palace in Edmond. It was pretty darn good. Since we had walked around all morning and had a belly full of food, the only sensible thing to do was take a nap (which we did). For the evening, we picked up my friend Ty and headed to the Bricktown Brewery. Luck for us, it was happy hour, so we got happy! That night, we saw a great game between the OKC Blazers and the Wichita Thunder. OKC won 3-2 - it was an exciting game with plenty of penalty minutes. Saturday, November 29th, 2003 To start the day, I found a bunch of coupons to use in Oklahoma City. We decided to The New Century Tour on the downtown trolley. If you haven't done this yet, you should. For a 45-minute tour, it cost us $2 a piece - and we learned alot. For lunch, we ate at the Bourbon Street Cafe in Bricktown. I really enjoyed the bread pudding. After another afternoon nap, we joined Ty & Letty for dinner at Coach's in Bricktown. Then, off to another hockey game. Unfortunately, the Blazers lost to Odessa, 4-3, in a shootout. We had a great time being a tourist in our own home town! |
