When we woke up, there was still no power
and the weather was nasty. I cancelled our air flights (no refund,
thank you) and scheduled for
Interbus to take us
from Arenal to Quepos. What started off as an one hour flight, now
turns into a 5 1/5 hour van ride. Que sera, sera.
After Lisa and I where picked up, we headed to the next place. To
get there we had to drive over some downed power lines. No one
seemed very concerned about it.

We picked up a young couple from Jersey.
The young lady was a little odd, because she had no volume control.
Also, every random thought that popped into her head, she had to
verbalize. Lovely.
We picked up couple from California in Arenal, then headed on our
way to Quepos. I think the only straight piece of highway in Costa
Rica must be the airplane landing strip. I was amazed how the drive
knew how to get where he was going. There are very few road signs
and no GPS.
About 2 hours into the trip, we stopped for a bathroom break, got
some more water and continued on our journey.

Once we got onto the main roads which
connect San Jose and Quepos, there was a lot of traffic and plenty
of congestion. We just enjoyed the views and relaxed as much as
possible.
Arrive at La Mariposa
was a welcome sign, I was hungry and thirsty. The hotel is very nice
and some amazing views. Here's a couple:

Let me say one thing bad about our room,
and you won't have to hear about it again. Lisa and I are in one the new
rooms, which must have been designed by some European architectural
student who lived in a fraternity house. To get to the toilet, you
basically have to walk past the shower. The sink in open area. So,
every thing you do (everything), is either heard by everyone else or
is seen by everyone else. Not very good design. |

After settling in, I rescheduled our ATV
tour for another day, went to the bar, had dinner and went to bed
early. Yahoo! Gotta love vacation. |
