Another early morning. BUT, that usually means we have things to ourselves. I think it is a good idea to do tours as early as possible. Once again, it's going to be just Lisa and I our a tour by ourselves. Which is just fine and dandy with us.

Here's a description of our tour from their website:

Early Birds Watching Tour

For birdwatchers we offer our Early Birds morning tour. It starts at 6:00 AM with a naturalist - ornithologist guide that looks for birds all over the place: the forest edge, the abandon pasture lands and the parking lot area and on the primary forest, into our unique trail and bridges… A great diversity of environments, for a great diversity of species. Go Explore the Birds Watching Tour

Early Birds Watching Tour Regularly we count between 50 and 60 species of birds during this tour, what makes it, one of the most productive bird watching walks of the region and the country. Besides the 2 hours and 30 minutes walk, this tour includes 30 minutes to edit the list of the species found in the morning.

Included: Naturalist-Ornithologist Guide and admission fee to the private reserve. Additional benefit- Early Birds: Additional benefit for Early Birds Morning Tour! Clients will receive an additional free admission during the next 3 days in our regular schedule from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.

We take a golf cart ride with our guide from the hotel to the Arenal Hanging Bridges. The weather is rainy and windy. We will make the best of it, as we always do. We waiting around the entrance for about 30 minutes to see if the weather is going to improve. Since it isn't, I say we go forward.

Even at the entrance of the area, there are many birds. Once inside, due to the bad weather, we don't see as many birds as we had hoped. The rain continues to fall and the winds blow. That's life and that's why we brought good rain gear. Our guide was very nice and informative. She was a college student, getting ready to start work on her Masters. Here are some of the better pictures from our tour:

Back at the hotel, the wind and the rain continued. I thought it was best that we cancelled our zip line tour, which was a good choice. The weather only got worse as the day went on. I did take the time to snap a few more pictures around the hotel. That evening, we saw the toucan at the bar again. We had another good meal at the hotel and went to bed early. It was the last time we would see electricity for a while.
