Quoting from a Clovis News-Journal article of October 8, 1939..........."Reynolds was but 16 years old when,
desperately in need of work, he took the job of dishwasher at the Harvey House in Syracuse, Kansas.......and in a year and a half had worked his way up to the position of chef." He moved to Belen and from there to the military for the service during WWI. When he got out he went to the Clovis Harvey House and was chef until it closed in the 40's.
